One to Watch

Anne Hunter walked away from corporate America in 2004 in search of new meaning for her personal and professional life. She had visited the Emerald Coast as a child, and four years ago on a drive down Scenic Highway 30A, she discovered a sense of peace and spirituality that filled her with hope. She moved to South Walton and soon realized the area teemed with creativity. Working with local artists as she promoted community-gathering spots at Alys Beach and Watercolor, Anne recognized talent that reminded her of the works of the great masters. “I believe historians will look back on this time and place and see these gifted individuals were the Michelangelo’s and da Vinci’s,” she says. Anne hopes her new business, World Six Gallery in Rosemary Beach, will be a springboard for those artists. The gallery is evolving as she sees opportunities to provide a place for people to discover emerging talent. “Rosemary Beach was developed with an eye to the future,” she says. “I wanted my gallery to be in a community that has vision because it attracts visionary people.”
